Done and backed as if it was to be framed. All hand done in the finest of workmanship. This lovely square embroidery 23 by 24 The Hand Embroidery is mostly silk satin stitch in flowers and stems, with two borders of Indian Shadow Work. This is one of the Shadow Work varieties that puts the majority of the thread on the top surface rather than below as when done on fine translucent cloth. The spacing of the zig zag stitches in this piece is wide rather than close enough for the threads to touch.
